Invendoory privacy policy

This Invendoory privacy policy explains what information the Invendoory marketing website collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Effective date: [Effective date].

Draft notice

Read this first

This policy is a draft and will be reviewed by counsel before launch.

Until it is final, treat the text below as a plain-language description of how we intend to handle information, not as a signed commitment. [Company legal name] (“we”, “us”) operates this website. Where this draft shows square brackets, such as [Company legal name] or [Effective date], the detail has not been confirmed yet.

Scope

What this Invendoory privacy policy covers

This Invendoory privacy policy covers the marketing website, meaning the pages you are reading now, including the contact form.

It does not cover the Invendoory app itself. The app is used by organizations that have invited their own staff, and it has its own handling, summarized in the section below titled “The Invendoory app is separate”.

If you only browse the website and never send us a message, we collect very little about you. The sections below explain exactly what.

Information we collect

Information you give us through the contact form

When you use the contact form, you choose what to tell us. The form collects:

  • your name
  • your work email address
  • your company
  • the number of units you manage
  • your message

The form sends these details to info@invendoory.com. We use them to read your message and to reply to you from the same address. If you email info@invendoory.com directly, we receive your email address and whatever you write in the message.

Please do not put sensitive personal information, such as resident details, in the message field. We do not need it to answer a sales question.

Technical information

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, the server that hosts this site may record basic technical information when you load a page, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request. This information is typically used to keep the site running, to find faults and to protect it from abuse.

If we use analytics on the website, we will describe the tool and what it records in this section before launch. If we use cookies or similar technologies, we will list what they do and give you a way to decline the ones that are not needed to run the site. This draft does not yet state which of these we use, because that has not been finalized.

How we use information

Why we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  1. Reply to your message and answer your questions about Invendoory, including pricing, a walkthrough and onboarding.
  2. Keep the website secure and working, and fix problems.
  3. Understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it, if we use analytics.
  4. Meet legal obligations and protect our rights.

We do not use your contact form details to build a profile of you or to make automated decisions about you.

Sharing

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for advertising.

We may share information with service providers that help us run the website and handle email, such as hosting and email providers, only so they can do that work for us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of others.

If [Company legal name] is involved in a merger, sale or similar change, information may move to the new owner, and we will tell you if that changes how this policy applies.

Retention

How long we keep information

We keep contact form messages and our replies for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and to keep a reasonable record of it. [Retention period to be confirmed by counsel.]

If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless we need to keep it for a legal reason. Technical logs are kept for a shorter period and then removed or anonymized.

Your rights

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct it
  • ask us to delete it
  • object to or restrict certain uses
  • ask for a copy of it
  • withdraw consent where we rely on it

To use any of these rights, email info@invendoory.com. We may need to confirm that the request comes from you before we act on it. If you are unhappy with how we respond, you may be able to complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

How we protect information

We use reasonable measures to protect the information we receive through this website, including limiting who can read messages sent to info@invendoory.com. No website or email system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise that information sent over the internet will never be intercepted. Please keep that in mind when deciding what to write in a message.

The Invendoory app

The Invendoory app is separate

This policy is about the marketing website. The Invendoory app has its own handling of data, and we summarize it here so you know where the lines are.

Access to the app is restricted to members of the organization that uses it, and accounts are invite-only. Error logs and analytics in the app strip emails and sign-in links, and the analytics run with ad signals turned off.

What a customer’s organization stores in the app belongs to that customer. See the security page for more, and the terms of service for the rules that apply to using the app.

Children

Children's privacy

The website is meant for people who manage apartment and condo properties. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, email info@invendoory.com and we will delete it.

Links

Links to other sites

This website may link to other sites, including the live demo, which is a working account with sample data and no customer data. Other sites have their own policies and we are not responsible for them. Please read the policy of any site you visit.

Changes

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the website changes or as counsel finalizes the draft. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of the page. If a change is significant, we will say so on the site. Check back from time to time.

Privacy questions

Do you sell my personal information?

No. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We use what you send through the contact form to reply to you, and we share it only with service providers who help us run the site and email.

What does the contact form collect?

Your name, work email, company, number of units managed and your message. The form sends these details to info@invendoory.com. Nothing else is required, and you can leave out anything you would rather not share.

Does the website use cookies or analytics?

This draft does not yet confirm that. If we use analytics or cookies, we will describe them on this page before launch and explain how to decline the ones that are not needed to run the site.

How do I ask you to delete my information?

Email info@invendoory.com and say what you want deleted. We may need to confirm the request comes from you. We will delete the information unless we have a legal reason to keep it.

Does this policy cover the Invendoory app?

No. It covers the marketing website. The app is limited to members of the organization using it, strips emails and sign-in links from error logs and analytics, and runs analytics with ad signals off. See the security page.

Who do I contact about privacy?

Email info@invendoory.com. You can also use the contact page. Put privacy in the subject line so the right person sees it.

Questions about privacy?

Email info@invendoory.com or use the contact page. You can also look at the product first in the live demo, which uses sample data only.
