Invendoory terms of service

These Invendoory terms of service set the rules for using the Invendoory website and service. Effective date: [Effective date].

Draft notice

Read this first

This policy is a draft and will be reviewed by counsel before launch.

Until it is final, treat the text below as a plain-language description of how we intend the service to work, not as a signed agreement. [Company legal name] (“we”, “us”) provides the website and the service. Placeholders in square brackets, such as [Company legal name], [Effective date] and [Jurisdiction], have not been confirmed yet.

About these terms

What these Invendoory terms of service cover

These terms apply to two things. The first is this marketing website. The second is the Invendoory service, the web app that organizations use to record unit inventory, run inspections and Make Ready turns, manage work orders and parts, and produce reports.

By using the website, you agree to the website parts of these terms. By using the service on behalf of an organization, you agree to the whole of them, and you confirm you have the authority to do so. If you do not agree, do not use the website or the service.

Accounts

Accounts are invite-only

Invendoory accounts are invite-only. There is no self-serve signup for a new company, and each deployment serves one organization. A person gets an account when someone at the organization with enough rank invites them, and nobody can invite above their own rank.

Invite links expire after 2 weeks and can be revoked. Removing a member cuts their access immediately. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details private and for activity under your account, and you should tell us at info@invendoory.com if you think your account has been misused.

Acceptable use

Acceptable use

You agree to use the website and the service lawfully and in good faith. You agree not to:

  • try to access data or accounts that are not yours, or get around permissions
  • probe, scan or test the service for weaknesses without written permission
  • upload malicious code, or content you have no right to upload
  • overload or disrupt the service, or use it to harm others
  • copy, resell or reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows it
  • use the service to store information that it is not intended for, such as unrelated personal data

We may suspend access that breaks these rules, and we will try to tell the organization why.

Your data

The customer owns its data

The organization that uses Invendoory owns the data it puts in: its properties, units, inventory, photos, inspections, work orders and reports. We do not claim ownership of it.

You give us permission to store and process that data only to provide the service to you. Every report exports to CSV and Excel (.xlsx), so you can take report data with you at any time. Report exports are not a full backup of the account, so keep your own records of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Demo

The demo uses sample data

The live demo is a working account filled with sample data for a made-up property. It contains no customer data and no personal information, and anything you do in it is not a record of real work.

Do not enter real resident, customer or personal information into the demo. We may reset or change demo data at any time without notice. See the demo page.

Pricing

Plans and prices

Published plan prices are on the pricing page: Basic is $89 per month with 50 units included and $3.00 per additional unit, and Advanced is $350 per month with 300 units included and $1.00 per additional unit.

These terms do not set any other pricing terms. Anything beyond the published prices, such as contract length or billing arrangements, is agreed with you directly. [Company legal name] will confirm such terms in writing before they apply.

Availability

The service is provided "as is"

We work to keep the service running, but we do not promise that it will always be available, error-free or uninterrupted. The service needs an internet connection to work, and it may be unavailable during maintenance or because of events outside our control.

To the extent the law allows, the website and the service are provided “as is” and “as available”, and we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Reports are only as accurate as the data entered into them, so check important numbers before you rely on them.

Liability

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, [Company legal name] is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue or lost data, arising from your use of the website or the service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount the organization paid us for the service in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim. [Counsel to confirm the cap.] Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Intellectual property

Our rights

We and our licensors own the website, the service, its design and its software. These terms do not transfer any of that to you. You may use the service as these terms allow, and you may keep your own copies of exported reports. Please do not copy our text, screenshots or branding without permission.

Ending

Suspension and termination

You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms, if an account is misused, or if the organization stops using the service. Before access ends, export the reports you need as CSV or Excel. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as limitation of liability and governing law, continue after access ends.

Governing law

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in [Jurisdiction] have jurisdiction over disputes about them, unless the law requires otherwise. [Counsel to confirm.]

Changes

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes or as counsel finalizes the draft. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of the page and, for significant changes, tell the organization. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.

Terms questions

Can anyone sign up for an Invendoory account?

No. Accounts are invite-only. Each deployment serves one organization, and someone at that organization with enough rank sends an invite link, which expires after 2 weeks. There is no self-serve signup for a new company.

Who owns the data we enter?

Your organization owns it. We store and process it to provide the service. Every report exports to CSV and Excel so you can take report data with you, though exports are not a full account backup.

Is the demo data real?

No. The demo is a working account with sample data for a made-up property. It holds no customer data and no personal information. Please do not enter real resident or customer details into it.

Do you guarantee the service will always be available?

No. The service is provided as is, and it needs an internet connection. We work to keep it running, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. Contact us if you have a specific need.

Where do I find the prices?

On the pricing page. These terms do not add pricing terms beyond the published plan prices. For anything else, talk to us.

How do I contact you about these terms?

Email info@invendoory.com or use the contact page. For how we handle website information, read the privacy policy.

Questions about these terms?
